The shortened, all-athlete season of Dancing with the Stars
won't premiere until much later in the Spring than usual. In its place, American Idol
will be taking over Mondays for most of March and April.

season 26, which will be a four-week, all-athlete edition of the ballroom competition, will premiere Monday, April 30 at 8/7c on ABC. That's more than a month later than it traditionally starts its Spring season.
The move will pave the way for ABC to offer a double dose of its American Idol
reboot. It was previously announced that the new version of Idol
will premiere Sunday, March 11 at 8/7c with two-hour episodes. In addition, two-hour episodes will also air Mondays starting March 12 at 8/7c.First Look at the New American Idol Judges>>>American Idol
will air twice a week for the first seven weeks, but then DWTS
will take over Mondays. The new Idol
, still hosted by Ryan Seacrest, will feature a judging panel with Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.
