The Real Housewives of New York City cast member Luann (formerly Countess de Lesseps) is officially an actual housewife once again, having married Tom D'Agostino Jr. on New Year's Eve 2016. While Luann may have already tied the knot, she's still engaged on the current season of RHONYC, and her rocky road to the altar has been a major story arc throughout seasons 8 and 9. After watching Luann's first marriage disintegrate, the demise of her long-time romance with French businessman Jacques Azoulay and her many exploits as a single gal in the city, viewers will finally see Luann say "I do," and fans must be breathing a collective sigh of relief that they'll no longer have to deal with Luann's obnoxious bridezilla behavior.

BL, BS and Bullying
Real Housewives fans may argue that NeNe Leakes, Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Tamra Judge were all bigger divas (all three got spin-offs chronicling their matrimonial hijinks.) Viewers were spared from watching Luann agonize over centerpieces and seating charts, but she still managed to be demanding, self-involved, angry, annoying, grandiose and obsessed with getting down that aisle at all costs, even when it meant sacrificing friendships and her self-respect.
Luann began gushing about D'Agostino early in season 8 after the two were set up by fellow cast member, Dorinda Medley. After just a few weeks, Luann was convinced Tom was her soulmate and soon after, he popped the question. Their romance progressed at breakneck speed in spite of the fact that Tom had taken a page from the Slade Smiley book of how to date multiple Housewives. He and Ramona Singer were briefly involved, and Tom had a decade-long FWB situation with Sonja.
Luann insisted that any flings Tom had BL (before Lu) were inconsequential but still went out of her way to discredit the extent of Tom's involvement with both women. She even invited Ramona and Sonja to her engagement party where she badgered and berated them for discussing their past relationships with her fiance, flashed her ring in Sonja's face and boasted that she was getting married over and over again.
Luann had a bit more trouble spinning the photos Bethenny shared with her that showed Tom canoodling with a woman a few days before his and Luann's engagement party. But a kiss is just a kiss, and Luann announced that she wasn't about to blow up her wedding plans over a smooch. She decided to shoot the messenger. Luann blasted Bethenny for interfering in her life, questioned the Skinnygirl mogul's intentions and accused her co-star of being a homewrecker during the season 8 reunion.
Fairy-tale Ending or Bust
In spite of having been married previously for 16 years, Luann pulled out all the stops in preparation for marriage number two, including an engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party and a lavish destination wedding with 250 guests. The 51-year-old insisted on a traditional white dress (a stretch for any middle-aged bride much less one who likes to bang random guys and Johnny Depp look-a-likes while on vacation.) Luann also threw in a sweetener, a Rolex watch as a wedding gift for her Prince Charming (or is it Charm-less?)
Luann failed to extend invitations to any of her current castmates -- Ramona practically begged to be included -- with the exception of Dorinda, who she recruited as a bridesmaid. Excluding the women (who probably wouldn't have attended anyway) didn't stop Luann from talking about the upcoming nuptials incessantly or remarking how self-centered Bethenny was for failing to inquire about the wedding planning (Bethenny was busy dealing with her stalker ex.) Even new-girl Tinsley found it odd that Luann would discuss the event in front of people who didn't earn a spot on the guest list.
Many of the women aren't fans of the groom, thanks in large part to his philandering. But they have demonstrated genuine concern about Luann's determination to marry someone whose biggest draws, according to Luann, are his real estate holdings, his love of skiing, his jet-set lifestyle and the fact that he's a deep sleeper.
The other women have tried to protect Luann, encouraged her to take things slow, to know her own worth, and when all that failed, still wished her happiness, and most of all, good luck. And the blushing bride's reaction? She called them jealous, catty bitches who were trying to ruin her happiness.
Amidst the rumors of cheating and cold feet, there is a silver lining -- Luann's arduous, vacuous, desperate journey from Countess to bridezilla to wife is finally over.
Do you think Luann has behaved like a bridezilla? Should she have invited everyone to the wedding? Did the other women do the right thing by trying to convince Luann not to marry Tom? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
