The Originals will see a fan-favorite get an even bigger role in its final year. Supergirl is getting a new female hero, while Bull gets a new rival and Empire adds some messy love interests. Lastly, the cast of Designated Survivor is in for a big shake-up as a series regular is leaving the show.

Fall 2017 Calendar: Premiere Dates for New and Returning TV Shows>>>

Dean Norris Joins Scandal in Mystery Role

The final season of Scandal remains a big question mark but there will be one new (but familiar) face among the cast. TVLine reports that Dean Norris, from Breaking Bad, Under the Dome and much more, has joined the final season as a yet unnamed character in a recurring role. Norris isn't the only new actor (with a mysterious role) on ScandalAs was previously reported, Shaun Toub and Jay Hernandez have also joined the final season in undisclosed roles.

Candice King's Originals Guest Star Role Gets Extended

Originals fans should get ready for much more Klaroline in the final season. TVLine is reporting that Candice King's reprise as fan-favorite Caroline has been extended from the earlier single-episode stint. King will now have a "multi-episode" arc.

In addition, King posted a picture of Originals star Joseph Morgan and herself on set. She captioned it, "Had fun playing with this hooligan over the past couple of days. Thanks for having me Originals!" Candice capped it off by teasing fans of Caroline and Klaus' romance that this stint is one for them.

Natascha McElhone Exiting Designated Survivor

It's time for Designated Survivor fans to get very worried about the show's First Family. Deadline is reporting Natascha McElhone, who plays First Lady Alex Kirkman, is leaving the show. McElhone will be moving from Designated Survivor to Hulu's The First, where she'll be starring opposite Sean Penn.

It's unknown how McElhone will be written out of Designated Survivor but she won't go away immediately. It's expected that McElhone will appear in at least half of season 2, before being written out somewhere near the midseason break.

Saturn Girl Comes to Supergirl

Supergirl is getting some superpowered help in season 3. According to Deadline, Amy Jackson, who is a Bollywood star, has been cast as Imra Ardeen, otherwise known as Saturn Girl, in a recurring capacity. Imra, like Kara Danvers, is an alien who will come to Earth and use her telekinetic powers to help Kara fight "one of her biggest threats."

Archie Panjabi to Guest Star on Bull

After leaving The Good Wife, Archie Panjabi is returning to a legal drama on CBS. However, it won't be The Good Wife spin-off on CBS All Access. EW reports that Panjabi will appear on Bull season 2. She will play Arti Cander, a "brilliant" trial scientist who will challenge Michael Weatherly's Jason Bull. In her short appearance Arti will prove to Bull "that [he] isn't the only trial scientist in town."

Empire Adds Two Complicated Love Interests

The Lyon family is going to be very busy, romantically, in season 4, if the latest casting news can be believed. Deadline is reporting that Teyonah Parris is joining the show as a recurring star. Parris will play Pamela Rose, a detective who starts investigating the attempted murder of Lucious but eventually finds herself in a bit of romance with one (so far unnamed) member of the family.

Meanwhile TVLine reports that Terrell Carter, who debuted on Empire last season as Jamal Lyon's new boyfriend, Warren Dubois, has been promoted to a series regular. There will be a bit of a Romeo and Juliet situation in Empire season 4 as Warren will develop real feelings for Jamal, the man he was tasked with seducing by his own mother. Warren will find himself torn between Jamal and his family, who hates the Lyon clan.
