Will Heath return on The Walking Dead? It's very possible now that Corey Hawkins' show 24: Legacy was canceled.

Fox just canceled 24: Legacy but is exploring other 24 spinoffs, including an anthology version. But the cancelation does have one big plus: Hawkins could be available to return to The Walking Dead.

Hawkins left the show because he landed 24: Legacy, but Heath's fate always felt like a big loose end. Heath was last seen on "Swear," episode 6 of season 7 of The Walking Dead. He and Tara had gone on a run and got separated when a pack of Walkers attacked them.

Heath disappeared during the struggle and it's always been unclear what happened to him. The Walking Dead did leave hints, though, that Heath was alive. All that was left was Heath's glasses, a keycard with "PPP" written on it and some tire tracks from the missing RV Heath presumably left in.

There have been some theories that another group (such as the Saviors) showed up and took Heath and the RV while he and Tara were being overrun by the Walkers.

And the fact that they didn't just kill off Hawkins' character and that Heath's fate was left so open-ended meant there was always the possibility that Hawkins could return to The Walking Dead.

Hawkins has even talked about a potential return to The Walking Dead in the past. "It's usually very finite, right?" Hawkins previously said. "But me and [showrunner] Scott [Gimple] have had a lot of conversations; Scott has been great in terms of asking and talking and really trying to figure out where the character was coming from and going, and you know, professional things take you where they take you, that's normal. But we left it open ... so I will just say there is always a possibility, there is always a way."

Heath is still alive in the comics and actually has a big moment in "All Out War" when he gets his leg blown off. So we'll have to see if Heath comes back or if that happens to someone else in the show.

What do you think happened to Heath? Do you think we'll see him again? Let us know in the comments!
